Rural Jobs
There are all kinds of seasonal job opportunities available in rural areas, from fruit picking in Australia to working in a vineyard in France or even becoming a cowboy or cowgirl and working on a Ranch in the USA.
This type of work can be a great deal of fun and very enjoyable but at the same time involves long hours and lots of hard work. Typically you will be working with many young travelers with similar interests; accommodation is often provided which creates a great social atmosphere with all the other staff living together either camping or in farm buildings. The pay is not great and various from location to location. If you don’t mind a bit of hard work and getting your hands dirty then seasonal jobs in a rural area can be very enjoyable and rewarding.

What they say……
“The work was very hard but had a great time meeting people from many different countries; it allowed me to save some money to carry on with my traveling during my year out.”
“The best part is the atmosphere amongst all the pickers, everyone got on great and we all enjoyed a few beers and a singsong in the evening.”
“I spent time picking various types of fruit, the pay was OK and we got paid daily. Decent way to get a suntan whilst getting paid would recommend it to anyone who isn’t afraid of a bit of hard work and who wants to save some cash whilst traveling.” |
